Our
Respect Life Committee
meets every 3rd Wednesday at 3:00pm
in the Knights of Columbus Hall located behind the church.
This
Committee is designed to foster respect for all life
from the womb to a natural death.
One of the
activities sponsored by the Respect Life Committee
each year is the "Spiritual Adoption of Unborn Life",
a program started by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.
Every year from October until June individuals are asked to
spiritually adopt an unborn child by completing an adoption card
and hanging it on a "tree" set up in the Parish Hall.
Then they are asked to pray daily that this baby's life be
spared from abortion.
Prayers are also requested to support the family of this unborn baby.
In June, the parish celebrates the "baby's birth" with a Baby Shower.
Everyone is asked to bring in gifts which are then donated
to a local pregnancy crisis shelter.
Our Respect Life Committee also sponsors our "Angel Tree" each Christmas. Working with Catholic Charities, this project helps provide Christmas gifts for seniors and children in our area.
